WE’RE OPENING ON JULY 1ST!

Coronavirus has had an unprecedented impact on all our lives and the global economy. We have all had to adapt to the new environment and consider what it means for the months and years ahead, and my business is no different.

I therefore will be proposing to reopen the shop and workshop on July 1st. This will be on a part-time basis, Wednesday-Saturday, to ‘test the water’ knowing that Jewellers will not be a high priority to visit after the lengthy period of lockdown.

 

When we are able to reopen to welcome you again, we will be fully compliant to the UK Government and HSE regulations. We will also be following the specialised trade advice from the Jeweller Support Network.

Whilst on lockdown I have been working behind the scenes dealing with any enquiries and doing what I can to help with any special occasions and on future commission work. Ideas and designs for exciting new Collections are also underway!

 

These are our ‘Store Safe’ plans for reopening ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both VJG Jewellery staff and our valued customers.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

We shall be limiting the number of customers within the shop and have set up two separate counters at the front of the shop for serving a maximum of 2 customers per counter at any one time, this will be managed with the door entry system allowing staff to control social distancing with a click of a button. Floor markings will guide customers where to stand. We ask that during busier times, customers queue outside alongside the front window at a safe distance of 2m apart and give clear passage of the front door for exiting customers, to then be called forward and buzzed in, in turn.

Hand sanitiser should be used on entering.

COUNTER-SERVICE ONLY

We will be restricting the movement and contact throughout the shop, but will be happy to show customers any goods at the counter for closer inspection. Stock will be sanitised accordingly.

 

NOMINATION (ITALY) COMPOSABLE BRACELETS – We have an extensive range of charms in stock to create your perfect bracelet. Any enquiries/orders can be made by phone, email, website or via Facebook, and a postal service is available upon request.

COMMISSIONS/REMODELLING WORK

We will be encouraging customers to make appointments to discuss any bespoke orders or remodelling work as this typically requires us to spend a considerable time with individual customers. For visits for this length, staff will wear the recommended PPE of a face shield and/or face covering for protection.

Video conferencing appointments via Zoom can be arranged.

JEWELLERY REPAIRS/REMODELLING WORK

We will carry out our comprehensive jewellery services adhering to guidelines set out by the National Association of Jewellers and Jeweller Support Network. Staff will wear relevant personal protective equipment (PPE) at appropriate times. All equipment will be sanitised after every customer.

RETURNED GOODS

Any goods returned will be sanitised prior to resale.

EXTENDED RETURNS POLICY

We will extend our 28 day Returns Policy on purchases from March 23rd, in respect of the lockdown, until July 31st.

CLEANING/SANITISING ROUTINE

The shop will adopt an enhanced cleaning routine using anti-bacterial/anti-viral cleaning products. All door handles and counter areas will be sanitised after every customer.

PAYMENTS

Card payments and cash will be accepted. Contactless will be the preferred method of payment; however, the card machine and cash will be sanitized after every transaction.

 

We would ask any customers who feel unwell with any Covid-19 symptoms, or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms in the last 14 days to not visit the shop and to reschedule their visit.

 

We will be very grateful to all customers for their patience during these unprecedented times, whilst we adapt to this ‘new normal’ way of working safely.

 

We are facing a challenge like no other and during the last 26 years of trading we’ve faced some truly testing times and fear that this global pandemic will change the face of the already struggling high-street and change people’s shopping habits immeasurably. We are keeping everything crossed that we can survive this uncertain and unnerving time with encouraging you, our loyal customers, back in-store to experience our award-winning service again.
